Byron Wear was elected to represent San Diego's 2nd City Council District in November, 1995 and re-elected in June 1998. Council District 2 includes some of the City's most popular tourist destinations, including the Embarcadero as well as vital urban components of the local economy--the San Diego Unified Port District, San Diego's Lindbergh Field, Downtown, Midway/Sport's Arena, San Diego Convention Center and the historic Gaslamp Quarter.
