Bridget Cantu Wear was the founder of the Pt. Loma Concert Series and played an active role in supporting arts and culture, education and programs that benefit children.

Ms. Cantu Wear grew up in the Imperial Valley and is the granddaughter of Col. Esteban Cantu, Governor of Baja California (1915-1920). She graduated with a B.A. in Art History from Yale University in 1981.

As a staff member and Development Department Associate of the Old Globe Theatre for 17 year, Ms. Cantu Wear assisted with two major Capital Campaigns to re-build the Festival Stage and Administrative Offices/Copley Plaza as well as numerous annual campaigns and special events.

Ms. Cantu Wear was the Committee Chair for Cub Scout Pack 546 for 5 years. In addition she served as a member of the Sunset View Foundation, Dana Association and recently co-chaired the Correia Middle School Site Governance Team.

In 2001, Ms. Cantu Wear founded the Pt Loma Concert Series and continues her volunteer service in raising funds. Following 9/11 Ms. Cantu Wear co-chaired the 9/11 photo exhibit "here is new york" in the Gaslamp District in Downtown San Diego .

As a member of the Pt Loma Little League she has chaired fundraising events to construct a new Viewing Terrace. For the past year Ms. Cantu Wear has been active in Makua, the auxillary for the Children's Home Society.

Ms. Cantu Wear currently serves as Chair of High Tech Middle School Community Events Committee and Co-Chairs with her husband Byron Wear, the $4 Million Capital Campaign to expand the Peninsula Family YMCA.

Working to improve the quality of arts, culture and education in the community at all levels continues to be a priority for Bridget Cantu Wear.
